Wal-Mart's New Statement of Ethics Site Goes Live

Posted by Mallory Smith on Tuesday, September 16, 2008 in Rockfish Work

The new Wal-Mart Statement of Ethics site is the ultimate resource for information behind the governing principles and guidelines of Wal-Mart entities nation-wide. The site will introduce you to the types of attitudes and conduct that create an honest, fair and legal workplace and is geared toward encouraging and promoting the established guiding theories behind Wal-Mart to its employees.

The site was built by Rockfish Interactive and was crafted primarily in HTML. The addition of a dropdown menu and several tabs across the top of the site allows for easy navigation between the topics of ethics in the workplace and in the marketplace as well as community principles. Through the site, employees can download the complete PDF version of the Statement of Ethics, or for quick reference, can access the dropdown table of contents menu on the homepage of the site.

Produced by Wal-Mart’s Global Ethics Office, ethics.walmartstores.com provides employees with a valuable reference tool that is much easier to navigate than previous printed copies. Employees can now easily find the answers to common questions or situations while discovering the important ethics policies behind all Wal-Mart operations.

Walmart and Rockfish Launch Money Saving Resource - Elevenmoms

Posted by Mallory Smith on Monday, September 15, 2008 in Rockfish Work

Gathering some of the most prominent money saving mom bloggers on the Internet, Walmart created the Elevenmoms community, an online forum for moms to connect and share money saving tips and ideas. Utilizing videos, polls and a feed from Twitter, the money saving community provides a way for Walmart shoppers a way to interact like never before.

Adding to the Walmart.com community of shoppers, the Elevenmoms community is led by mom bloggers from across the nation and incorporates elements from prominent social media sites like Twitter and YouTube. Built by Rockfish Interactive, the Elevenmoms community allows its users to interact with the site by reading the profiles of the lead bloggers, follow a live Twitter feed of tips and advice, and submit their own money-saving tips for inclusion on the site.

A YouTube community also launched with the community. This community features videos from all the key mom bloggers as well as other Walmart shoppers who want to share their tips. In October, the YouTube community will feature a contest where users can submit their video tips for a chance to win great prizes from Wal-Mart. In addition to the social media aspects of the site, visitors can also utilize money saving and budgeting calculators to see how much money they could save with a more fuel efficient car or by bringing their lunch rather than eating out at a local restaurant or picking up fast food on their lunch hour.

The site was greeted with national attention from prominent and local news outlets, including the Washington Post. Some of the selected mom bloggers were even interviewed by their local news outlets about their participation in the Elevenmoms project. To further spread the word about the site, the URL, walmart.com/moneysavingmoms, was featured on each Walmart receipt printed nation-wide, inviting moms (and dads) to share their tips on how to save money and live better.
