Posted by Laura Gardner on Thursday, September 01, 2011 in Rockfish Labs

The CouponFactory technology was highlighted by Facebook in a "Couponing on Facebook" guide sent to advertisers interested in implementing coupons on Facebook, which emphasized that consumers aren’t happy jumping through hoops in order to print a coupon. Through the CouponFactory technology, businesses can post an offer on their page, allowing customers to print the offer inside of Facebook without the need to download a Facebook app or a 3rd-party print software. Customer print conversions are much higher because CouponFactory has made printing coupons "easy, peasy".

Here's a quick how-to on using CouponFactory to bring digital coupons to your brands Facebook page:

1.       Use the turn-key CouponFactory tool to create your printed coupon and banner within minutes

2.       Place your embed code (generated in CouponFactory) into a webpage to be used as a tab in Facebook

3.       Create your tab, linking to your page created in step 2

4.       Create the “like” functionality to your page making certain that fans cannot print the offer without liking your business.

5.       Watch your coupons print without a hiccup and watch the number of fans to your business explode

ROGERS, ARKANSAS (April 13, 2011) – Rockfish (http://rockfi.sh) announced today the launch of CouponFactory, a turnkey couponing software platform that gives businesses the ability to easily create, customize and place their coupon widget wherever they choose.

CouponFactory is a simple, affordable digital couponing platform with a flexible interface that is a better solution for companies and consumers alike. For brands, retailers and small businesses, CouponFactory’s solution provides:

  • Easy-to-use, turnkey web solution
  • Customer data collection
  • No set-up fees
  • Detailed digital coupon analytics
  • Coupon fraud control
  • Mobile, web and social embed options

CouponFactory also provides a superior consumer experience including:

  • No 3rd party redirects
  • No downloading printing software
  • Simple, 2-click print

“Digital couponing has exploded over the past several years as consumers have gone back to more frugal shopping habits,” said Wade Allen, VP of Rockfish Retail. “Many CPGs, retailers, and small businesses have been unable to fully participate due to costs, fraud, and poor customer experience. CouponFactory was built specifically to resolve these issues for businesses and consumers alike.”

Premiering at the In-Store Marketing Summit in Chicago, CouponFactory has already been tested by leading national brands such as White Cloud to distribute offers through various forms of digital media.

"This breakthrough technology allows our Brand Advocate bloggers to embed a ‘widget’ into their blogs with very little effort, allowing their followers to print White Cloud coupons directly from their site without having to be redirected to a third-party site," said John McPherson, White Cloud’s Director of Marketing.

Wired Magazine Touts PlayNextLevel

Posted by Rockfish Interactive on Wednesday, August 11, 2010 in Rockfish Labs

In an article posted on August 9, 2010, Wired magazine's Erik Malinowski said, "Play Next Level is the leader in helping players who hope they haven't played their last down of football once this fall's Friday night lights dim for good."PlayNextLevel.com

PlayNextLevel, a Rockfish Labs incubation company, launched this past spring as an interactive recruiting platform that allows high school and junior college football players to showcase their skills to college coaches across the country. PlayNextLevel has already acquired more than 1000 player profiles for college coaches to peruse and it's growing daily.

Malinowski also writes, "Each player's profile does offer a impressive amount of info on each prospect. All the standards are there -- height, weight, academic achievements -- along with a dedicated statistics page, an easy-to-find list of colleges the player is interested, and the ability to upload a video highlight reel as well as a photo album."

"Visiting football camps this summer has been hectic, but we're now seeing the rewards from our effort," said PlayNextLevel Founder Alex Mortensen. "The need for players to leverage technology is obvious. And, where the best players can be found, coaches will be soon to follow."

How do high school football players get recruited? The NCAA states that roughly 5.8%, or less than one in 17 high school seniors, will play at the NCAA level. Yet, there are 20,000 high schools in the country and nearly 900 college programs trying to find the right players for their respective teams.

In other words, it's tough if you're not the star player or on a team with a star player. Introducing PlayNextLevel.com, one of the largest joint ventures to come from the Rockfish Labs incubation division.

"Players spend hours cutting highlight film, compiling stats and then mailing video tapes or DVDs to the collegiate programs that interest them," says Alex Mortensen, founder of PlayNextLevel.com and son of Senior NFL Analyst Chris Mortensen.

Together, Rockfish and Alex built Play Next Level as the place where players, coaches and fans benefit from an improved, innovative high school football recruiting experience:PlayNextLevel.com

  • Players, of any skill level, can create a personal profile on the web site as a showcase for their physical metrics, performance stats and highlight videos.
  • Coaches gain access to profiles for more players than they could ever see in person. This allows them to more efficiently schedule their time, more effectively fill their roster needs, and avoid sorting through a mailbox of DVDs.
  • Fans can follow their favorite players to receive alerts whenever the player updates his personal profile.
  • Advice, most prevalent in the "Film Room" videos, includes direction from Chris Mortensen for players and parents on how to successfully create a highlight video and navigate the recruiting process.

The Rockfish Labs Joint Venture Opportunity
Got a great idea? Then, you should check out Rockfish Labs, where we develop new technologies, build new products with existing brands, and help entrepreneurs bring their great ideas to the marketplace. Play Next Level is the eighth company to be launched from Labs, and the most ambitious effort to date. The joint venture is co-owned by Alex and Rockfish, which is a model business relationship that we will look to duplicate frequently in the future.
